Our clients tell us how
happy they are with our work because they get so many
compliments
on their Oriental rugs and it makes them feel good. To
give you an idea of how thorough
East Bay’s cleaning process is, here are the seven
steps in our unmatched cleaning process:

Pre-Inspection
You’ve probably seen or heard of so-called
“inspectors” who walk around your rug a couple of
times then bend down and run their hand over
a section of the carpet.
They call this their pre-inspection! We’ve heard
this story all too often from many of our new
clients.
An East Bay Oriental Rug Cleaning professional
pre-inspection is much different. Your rug is
carefully inspected in our plant by one of our master
cleaners. Your rug is inspected very thoroughly on the
top surface and then
turned over so every bit of the bottom surface can be
inspected.
This is the only way to be sure that there are no
defects that are overlooked so you have the assurance
that your rug is in perfect condition.
Dust Removal

Ordinary dust in your rug is something you very
seldom think about. However, if not properly and
periodically removed, this invisible nuisance can
cause a lot of heartaches. Why?
Your oriental rug is a valuable investment and to
protect that value, you need to give it proper care.
Ordinary vacuuming with your home vacuum cleaner
cannot reach deep enough into the fibers to clean out
all of the dust!
An accumulation of dust can cause all sorts of defects
in your rug and make it appear much older and worn
than it really is. That’s why East Bay Oriental Rug
Cleaning has become the guardian and protector of so
many of the fine rugs in our area.
Our first step is to get rid of all of the dust by
using compressed air. This gives the exact pressure
needed to remove all the soil from your valuable rug
without damaging any of the fibers or causing the
colors to bleed.. Regular rug cleaners don’t use this
method because they don't have the specialized
equipment that is necessary to do the job properly.
But your rug is an important investment and its value
should be protected and even enhanced!
Submersion Bath
Once the soil is removed from the dry rug by
compressed air, we then move to the bathing process of
hand washing. A professional hand-washing in a
submersion bath gives you the assurance that your
treasured Oriental rug is getting the treatment it
deserves and that you expect for something so
valuable.
By using compressed air under water your Oriental rug
gets luxury treatment that has the same effect as
a “Jacuzzi” bath. Along with the relaxing mental
images you can get from this description, your unique
Oriental rug gets complete cleaning because of the
gentle agitation of the water jets.
Once the bathing processes have been completed, still
another extremely important action takes place. If you
have pets or live in an area of high humidity you know
the problems you can have with animal odors,
excretions, insect and mite infestation, mold and
mildew. They have a very detrimental effect on the
beauty and value of your cherished Oriental rugs.
No one treatment can eliminate all of those things.
So, to make sure your rugs maintain their beauty and
value, East Bay Oriental Rug Cleaning uses
specialized treatment for each specific problem,
something few others do or even know about.
Rinse
Once your Oriental rug has been thoroughly cleaned, it
is then rinsed to remove all of the soils and cleaning
agents. It may surprise you to know that East Bay
Oriental Rug Cleaning’s rinsing process is so thorough
that our final rinse water is actually clean enough
to drink! Caution! We do not recommend you
try this with any other company’s rinse water!
Drying

Your rug is dried gently, yet quickly, in our
specially designed, atmosphere-controlled drying room.
If the drying process is too fast or too slow it can
severely damage and devalue your Oriental rug. We
realize your Oriental rug is one of your most precious
possessions and East Bay Oriental Rug Cleaning treats
your rug with the utmost care!
Fringe Work &
Detailing
Then, there is the matter of spotting to remove any
foreign matter possibly remaining. This will be done
giving careful consideration to the fibers and dyes as
a priority.
Rinsing and combing out all of the fringes is the
final step in our rug cleaning process. Since fringes
normally have no color, any spot of dirt shows up
quite clearly and detracts from the beauty of your
rug.
